Price in Canada: Standard or Ultimate?
On the Canadian PlayStation Store, read on October 27, GTA VI is listed at $109.99 for the Standard Edition and $139.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Rockstar's own store shows the same CA$109.99 for the Standard Edition. Provincial and federal taxes are added at checkout.
The Ultimate Edition adds in-game content that Rockstar spreads across Jason and Lucia's story: vehicles such as the '95 Grotti Cheetah and a Classic Car Collection, the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers with personalized weapon variants, and businesses such as the Rideout Customs mod shop, Sara's Unisex Salon and the Electric Fang tattoo parlor. You do not have to decide now: Standard Edition owners can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade later on PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. There is no physical Ultimate Edition.
The pre-order bonus depends on the version. Digital pre-orders and purchases made before November 20 get the Vintage Vice City Pack, with the '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage, outfits and hairstyles and an exclusive weapon pattern, plus one month of GTA+. Physical pre-orders include a code for the game and the Vintage Vice City Pack.
Pre-load, and a box with no disc
Rockstar's support page sets the pre-load at local midnight on November 12, 2026. The physical version contains only a download code: there is no disc in the box. Boxed copies are expected at retailers from November 12, and their codes can be redeemed right away to pre-load. In practice, buying the box saves you nothing on download time.
Watch the region if you buy a code. Rockstar groups Canada and the United States in the same North America region for PlayStation codes, while Xbox codes are not region-locked. Rockstar recommends buying from a retailer in the country of your platform account to avoid activation problems.
How big is the GTA 6 download?
As of October 27, the install size is not official: Rockstar's support page and the store listings do not state it. Three figures circulate:
- Just under 200 GB on PS5, from the GTA 6 Intel leaks account, reported by Upcomer in June with a clear caveat: the figure is not confirmed.
- Over 200 GB for a development build, claimed by the leaker Cyberleek. Notebookcheck points out that development builds usually do not reflect retail releases, which are compressed and optimized.
- 210 GB, relayed by Polymarket on October 27 without a named source.
The safe move is to free up space before November 12, then check the real size on your console's store page when the pre-load opens.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
Not for now. Rockstar lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, and no PC release has been announced. A "GTA 6 for PC" download offered online does not come from Rockstar.
Your checklist before November 19
Check your free storage
If the leaks are right, plan for about 200 GB. Uninstall what you no longer play, or add storage before pre-load day.
Pick your edition without pressure
The Standard Edition can be upgraded later, so the $30 gap between the two Canadian prices can wait until you know you like the extras.
Buy in your account's region
A Canadian PlayStation account needs a North America code. Xbox codes work in any region.
Pre-load on November 12
Digital and boxed buyers alike can start the download at local midnight, a week before launch.
